Frequently Asked Questions
-
Our retreats combine whole person care, earth and plant medicine practices, mind/body/spirit wellness and nature immersion - held by professional guides in small, intentional settings. Every retreat includes structured preparation before, guided ceremony, and integration support after, so the experience translates into lasting change rather than a single powerful moment.
-
No. Many of the people we work with have never done this kind of work before. Our screening and preparation process is designed to meet you where you are.
-
Although some of the retreat guides may be licensed therapists or licensed facilitators, as your retreat guides, they are not providing psilocybin therapy or regulated facilitated mushroom journeys. Your retreat experience is focused on individual intentions and mind, body and spiritual integration.
-
Psilocybin therapy is often described in a clinical or medical context for the purpose of addressing specific diagnosed disorders and symptoms, while plant medicine ceremonies and retreats are held within personal, spiritual or ceremonial container. Plant medicine retreats support spiritual and personal exploration of plant medicine and entheogens in individual or group containers without a prescribed dogma
-
Many people seek plant medicine retreats for support with trauma, grief, addiction, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. While experiences vary, our work emphasizes safety, readiness, preparation, and integration -recognizing that healing unfolds over time and through relationship, not quick fixes.
-
Intuitive development is the process of learning to listen to and trust inner guidance through the body, emotions, and subtle awareness. At Rising Roots Sanctuary, intuitive development is supported through meditation, ceremony, nature connection, and integration practices-helping participants reconnect with gifts that are already present.
-
Integration is the process of grounding insights from spiritual or psychedelic experiences into daily life. Without integration, experiences can feel overwhelming or destabilizing. Integration at Rising Roots Sanctuary emphasizes individual insight embodiment and practical tools for long-term sustainability.
-
That's exactly what the screening process and consultation call are for - we'll talk through your intentions, your history, and whether the timing is right, together. Free, with no obligation.
-
Safety comes first. If we determine a retreat isn't the right fit right now, we'll talk with you honestly about why, and where possible, point you toward other resources or a future path that might work better.
-
This is exactly what individual screening is for, and it's reviewed with you personally by a certified provider rather than answered in general terms here. Please share your full health and medication history during the screening process so we can make sure your retreat is safe for you.
-
Group retreats are held on set dates, in a set location, with up to 8 women in the circle. Private retreats are fully custom - your own dates, your own location, and a guide team dedicated only to you, a partner, or your small group.
-
Yes! Many people attend group retreats with friends and partners. However, both participants will need to clear the screening process individually. If you'd like to attend with a partner for specific couples goals, or a small group of your own separately, a Private Retreat may be a better fit, since it lets us build the experience specifically around your group.
-
For group retreats, meals and lodging are included. Transportation may or may not be included - see each retreat page for details.
For private retreats, meals and transportation can be arranged for an additional cost, or planned independently. Participants arrange their own lodging, while facilitator lodging is built into the retreat cost.

Start with an inquiry through our intake form. From there, you'll complete a screening application and schedule a free consultation call before anything is confirmed.
